Senior Accountant, CSU Foundation
Position Description: Performs a wide range of detailed and complex accounting and advisory functions pertaining to the creation and overall maintenance of the financial records of the Cleveland State University Foundation (CSUF). Creates and maintains gift accounts, financial aid program accounts, contracts, cooperative agreements, and related budgets. Ensures day-to-day operations are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles, University policies and objectives. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong customer service skills.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a specialization in accounting. Five years professional experience in accounting using computerized accounting systems. Experience utilizing financial software and related databases. Ability to exercise considerable independent judgment, resolve unusual problems, and devise innovative procedures to improve operational efficiency. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; strong analytical and computing skills. Technical proficiency in use of word processing, spreadsheet and database software packages, and ability to perform data analysis with tools such as SQL and MSOffice products. Knowledgeable in internet navigation and research. Demonstrated strengths in collaboration, teamwork, and customer service to both internal and external constituencies.
Preferred Qualifications: CPA license. Master's degree in related field. Experience in fund accounting. Sage Accounting System experience. Previous experience in a higher education setting.
