We are very excited to partner with GLAAD in their continued evolution in recruiting a Director of Individual Giving to re-imagine and re-build the organization’s individual fundraising programs. This leadership role in a recently re-visioned Development Department will manage the Individual Giving Team and oversee GLAAD’s major donor and membership giving programs.
In addition to building and to managing a major donor portfolio of her/his/their own, the Director of Individual Giving will assume primary responsibility for the development and execution of a comprehensive, multi-channel, individual giving strategy, comprising communication and solicitation, email, direct mail, phone, personal visitation, and volunteer engagement.
The successful candidate will be an experienced, self-motivated, and successful nonprofit fundraising professional with a track record of building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with individual donors. She/He/They will have well-honed skills in all critical competencies of individual philanthropy, including new donor identification; donor retention, cultivation, and solicitation; donor appreciation/stewardship; gift processing and acknowledgement; and donor/data management systems. This person could come from any number of environments where, major and membership giving are prioritized – higher education, arts/cultural institutions, hospital/health care foundations, social justice, LGBTQ advocacy, etc. – so long as she/he/they have a background as a front-line fundraiser and demonstrate a commitment to the issues surrounding full LGBTQ inclusion and equality.
She/He/They should also be comfortable working in mission-driven nonprofit environment and in close collaboration with people of diverse racial/ethnic, economic, sexual, and gender identities.
