We are looking to hire a Director of Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships.
The Director of Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships will serve as a frontline, external fundraiser whose primary responsibility is to identify, expand, diversify, and cultivate relationships with prospective and existing donors in order to successfully close gifts and continue the development of the relationship with Gulliver Schools. Will direct and coordinate all school-wide fundraising efforts for the school.
This position will require a close working relationship with the Executive Director of External Affairs on the planning and implementation of all fundraising activities. Will also work closely with the Head of Schools, Board of Trustees, advancement staff, employees, parents and volunteers to develop effective strategies for prospects with major gifts capabilities.
Will oversee and ensure comprehensive and effective donor identification, research and management to support the school’s funding priorities, including alumni, parents, foundations and corporations.
Will formulate and oversee organizational policies and procedures related to prospect management and fundraising.
Work closely with leadership to develop future fundraising strategies, including the identification and prioritization of prospects and annual goal setting to support and advance annual fund, endowments and capital and programmatic projects.
Oversees the development of fundraising materials (print, online and social media) including proposals, impact reports, annual giving solicitations and stewardship communications. Work with development and communications staff to appropriately include giving opportunities in all potential and relevant vehicles.
Develop detailed knowledge of fundraising research programs and be able to translate capital campaign strategies, progress and accomplishments to prospective donors.
Creatively engage and manage volunteer leadership to support fundraising efforts.
Proactively work with school faculty, students, parents and staff to deeply understand needs and opportunities to inform and inspire fundraising strategies.
Serve as relationship manager for major gift prospects and donors.
Work with development team to conceptualize and coordinate events, programs, solicitation activities and donor recognition events. These include but are not limited to the annual gala, golf tournament, alumni reunion and Athletic Hall of Fame.
Develop an annual operation plan with short and long term goals for approval by the Executive Director of External Affairs and the Board of Trustees
