The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) seeks a Conference & Membership Assistant to provide support for event preparation and membership retention & recruitment efforts for the Association.
This position will be responsible for many day-to-day administrative tasks including, but not limited to preparing conference/event materials; packing/unpacking event materials and equipment; assisting with the pre-registration process via the Association’s databases; assisting with member recruitment and retention efforts; membership research and analysis. The position will report jointly to the Director of Meetings & Conferences and the Director of Membership Development.
The qualified candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year work experience in an professional office environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) is required. Familiarity working with a membership and event databases (Abila’s NetForum or similar, Eventsential, Delegate Select), and HTML experience is a plus. Ability to lift 25 lbs. is required.
The ideal candidate is customer service oriented, a proactive, self-starter, meticulous and is extremely organized. The candidate is detailed oriented while also being able to “see the big picture” as it relates to the administrative tasks they are asked to accomplish. Must be a quick learner and have strong written and oral communication skills.
The hourly salary is competitive and commiserate with experience. This is a part-time, temporary positon (approx. 8 months), not eligible for benefits. This position may possibly grow into a full-time, long-term opportunity but NACWA makes no guarantee of regular, full-time employment. No out-of-town, overnight travel is required for this position.
