In 2024, Scripps Health will begin its second 100 years as a top-ranked destination hospital system based in San Diego. Help lead the largest Comprehensive Campaign in Scripps history as the top development executive at Scripps Mercy Hospital – our oldest and largest hospital in the network.
Responsible for all aspects of fund development for assigned programs or region, including major gift, annual giving, special event and planned giving. Accountable for the strategies of cultivating, stewarding and soliciting individuals for major gift donors (>$100k). Represents Scripps and presents institutional fundraising priorities to public and private organizations.
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Completion of at least 2 years of college level coursework plus ten years fund-raising experience. Demonstrated track record of success in major gift fund raising. Experience in all aspects of philanthropic fund development, including working knowledge of rules and regulations governing charitable estate planning. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with varied constituencies, including volunteers, boards of trustees, physicians, patients and donors. Demonstrated ability to manage and staff a volunteer board of directors for a non-profit organization and ability to supervise and lead fundraising and administrative staff. Excellent writing and verbal skills, including ability to make presentations. Computer proficiency, including expertise in Word. Creative, self-starting, results-oriented and committed to working as part of a team enterprise. Ability to organize time effectively and manage a large number of tasks simultaneously. Strong sense of ethical conduct.
