Elmhurst College (www.elmhurst.edu), a private, comprehensive college in suburban Chicago with a strong liberal arts tradition and a commitment to professional preparation, invites nominations and applications for a dynamic, creative and accomplished vice president for development and alumni relations. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational team builder with a proven track record of fundraising at the highest level, and will oversee all functions and staff of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. This role reports directly to the College president as a member of the President’s Cabinet.
Elmhurst College will celebrate its 150th year in 2021, and the selected candidate will have the opportunity to lead the institution’s comprehensive capital campaign. She or he will possess an appropriate degree (Bachelor’s, with Master’s preferred); seven to 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in development, preferably in a campaign setting; and a minimum of five years of related management experience in an organization of similar size and scope. This person will visit with major donors and prospects, improve the alumni participation rate, and develop plans to secure the maximum level of gift support for both operating and capital needs.
