Shriners Hospitals for Children is a non-profit health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing pediatric specialty care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs for medical professionals. A Development Officer at Shriners Hospitals for Children identifies and cultivates prospective donors in the local community from whom to solicit gifts. Nurture donor relationships through regular contact, communication and recognition. For the purpose of fund raising, develops and maintains relationships with hospital-affiliated Shriner Temples and the local community. You will be responsible for following and fulfilling the objectives and goals disseminated by Shriners Hospitals for Children's national and local boards as well as the Corporate Director of Donor Development. The position requires the willingness and ability to travel as needed and willing to occasionally work evenings and weekends when necessary. Applicable experiences in the health care environment within development in major and planned gift giving, Foundations, campaigns and grant writing is expected.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent of education and experience required.
At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible development and fundraising experience, with at least five (5) years' experience working with major and planned giving programs.
Graduate degree or post baccalaureate education preferred.
