| FAU's Athletics department is seeking an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach to assist the Head Coach in organizing, preparing and empowering the men's soccer team while upholding FAU Athletics core values of excellence, team work and integrity. |
Responsible for assisting with activities associated with the program and student-athletes. These activities will include the following: recruiting, monitoring academic performance and social development, maintaining discipline and development programs, fundraising activities, and coordinating summer camps, pre and post-conditioning, practice and games. These responsibilities may include transport of prospects and student athletes to events, practices and competitions.
Will assist in the recruitment of student-athletes by negotiating scholarship offers to prospects as directed and attending off campus games for the purpose of evaluation and contact.
Plan campus visits with prospective student-athletes and their parents. Will also coordinate mailing of recruitment materials and recruiting information as well as maintain contact with prospective student-athletes.
Prepare, plan, conduct and evaluate practice sessions, as directed. Teach individuals and groups of player's specific tasks and skills before, during and after practice throughout season and off-season.
Teach player-to-player sport specific skills as well as progressions and drills during daily practice.
Administer travel arrangements for team and schedule practice times for road games.
Supervise and assign responsibilities to team managers and graduate assistants if applicable. Will maintain equipment inventory and oversee distribution to athletes. Must follow FAU procedures in handling all ordering supplies and any funds that flow through the athletic program.
Plan long and short term team objectives under the leadership of the Head Coach.
Coordinate all enrollment activities of student-athletes. Monitor academic progress and class attendance of student-athletes and intervene when necessary.
Work to complete student's development through graduation by assisting with academic needs. Establish requirements for team members in terms of academic and athletic progress.
Interact with various campus offices, departments and faculty. Will maintain effective communication with faculty relating to monitoring academic progress of student-athletes and development of academic improvement strategies for athletes.
Serve as guest speaker at public events on behalf of FAU Athletics. Will also serve in a leadership role and promote participation in community service activities by student athletes.
Coordinate community service and FAU athletics-to-school programs.
