Prepares persuasive and articulate funding proposals and grant applications for corporations, private foundations or individuals to assist UNI Advancement Development staff in successfully raising funds for UNI; provides writing support for other corporate and foundation and development print and electronic communication needs; supports reporting and stewardship communication needs associated with funded corporate and foundation proposals; and reviews and identifies appropriate external funding opportunities.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism or related field; at least one year of professional writing experience; strong organizational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills; and ability to manage multiple projects and complete a high volume of work under tight deadlines required. Proposal writing and editorial experience in a development or academic setting for corporations, foundations or individuals; intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe software; and familiarity with online grant management systems and funding databases preferred. Student experience will be considered. Criminal and other relevant background checks required.
