Goodwin House (GH), a nationally recognized, faith-based, nonprofit organization that owns and operates retirement communities in NoVA, is seeking a Director of Development for the Goodwin House Foundation (GHF). GHF supports the mission of GHI and raises funds for both GH/GHF programs.
This position reports to the Executive Director (ED) of GHF. Provides critical support to the ED Director in all areas of fundraising with emphasis on generating new, renewed, and increased support for the Annual Appeal, Major Gift, Planned Giving, and Capital Campaign programs. Also responsible for: gift acceptance/acknowledgement letters; data entry into Raisers Edge; and projects assigned by the ED.
The ideal candidate will have progressive development experience in a nonprofit organization, higher-education, or supporting foundation. Will need a strong working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using PG Calc an added plus. Must possess the ability to build and nurture relations, have strong writing and oral presentation skills, think strategically, manage finances, and work well with others in a small shop environment. A Bachelor’s degree is required; CFRE certification is desired.
