The University of Tennessee Athletic Department is seeking an Athletics Marketing and Promotions Graduate Assistant to assist in all marketing and promotional activities for UT Athletics and its 18 NCAA Division I sport programs; assists in coordination of all game-day activities to fulfill sponsor, promotional obligations and fan experience; direct campus marketing activities; social media content; assists in fulfillment of donation requests; assist with student intern program. Graduate Assistants will be expected to assist with all marketing and promotional efforts from planning through implementation, aid marketing staff with detailed marketing plans for assigned sports. This plan will focus on various constituencies, including alumni, faculty and staff, students, community supporters, and corporate supporters. Assist with Vol Village, the football game day interactive area including scheduling of vendor setup, order supplier or needs for each vendor and assist with oversight on game day to include setup and tear down. Raise awareness of athletic events and increase fan attendance of UT students with assistance of on campus events and other duties as assigned.
Must be accepted into a UT graduate program. Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and one (1) year of experience in sports marketing/game management.
Evidence of strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly to convey thoughts, ideas and plans clearly to UT coaches, administrators and other staff members; ability to develop and initiate unique ideas while working these plans into the marketing strategy of assigned sports programs; strong creativity including graphic design experience and leadership; ability to perform multiple tasks and responsibilities in an efficient manner; strong organizational skills; team player; The ability to work a non-standard work week including nights, weekends and holidays is mandatory and balance between class work and marketing duties.
Required qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field. Excellent organization and communication skills. Knowledge of computers and programs to include Microsoft office and Adobe Creative Suite. The ability to work a non-standard work week including nights, weekends and holidays is mandatory.

Additional Salary Information: The Graduate Assistantship is a renewable 2-year position, upon meeting academic requirements and receiving a positive performance review from marketing staff at the completion of year 1 with anticipated start date of July 10, 2017. The GA position includes cost of tuition, books and a monthly stipend of $1,000. Application deadline is February 24, 2017.
