Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
A minimum of two years’ of work experience, with at least one year of work experience handling/managing event logistics is required.
Work experience in a customer service role and work experience that includes database management are also required.
Experience with program development & administration with a focus on customer retention is preferred. Work experience with social media is desirable. Knowledge of SMU culture is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Must also demonstrate a strong customer service orientation.
Candidate must demonstrate strong written communication skills with ability to produce error-free written communications A strong focus on attention to detail is essential.
Candidate must possess strong time management, organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-stress team environment. Must also possess strong problem solving skills with the ability to be resourceful, proactive, and seek assistance as needed. Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently are essential. This position also requires strong analytical ability in order to gather and summarize data for reports.
Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel at an advanced level, and spelling & grammar. A working knowledge of MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint is essential. Experience with html, SiteCore, DreamWeaver, and/or FrontPage is preferred. Experience with databases (i.e., Blackbaud) is desirable. Experience with Asana or project management software is plus.
