Start up Program will start play in Spring of 2019
Provide leadership for the NCAA Division I intercollegiate women’s lacrosse program. Administer and promote the program within the university’s mission. Assist in the development of Women’s Lacrosse as a Kent State varsity sport. Reports to Athletic Director or designated supervisor. Provide leadership for the women’s lacrosse team; establish coaching strategies and teaching methods to develop student-athlete skills and teamwork; analyze team performance and adjust strategies as needed. Oversee recruitment and retention of student-athletes. Develop policies and procedures for student-athletes and coaches. Administer program budget, analyze funding needs, and plan fundraising activities to subsidize athletic program. Develop strategies to foster athletic and academic progress of student-athletes; counsel and advise student-athletes. Perform marketing and public relations duties to promote the program. Provide direct supervision of assistant coaches and other assigned staff. Perform related duties as assigned, as permitted under NCAA and MAC rules and regulations.
Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field. Four to five years of progressively responsible coaching and/or playing experience in NCAA Division I lacrosse. Must be able to travel and to work nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
