Adrian College is interviewing for a new Men's and Women's Crew Coach This position involves frequent verbal, written, and email correspondence with current and prospective students, parents, faculty and staff. The successful candidate will:
• Develop and implement a successful recruiting/retention plan • Monitor and ensure progress in the construction of the new Boat House • Devise a competition strategy which includes scouting opponents • Plan and supervise practices/contests and off-season training and strength conditioning programs • Coordinate team (s) travel • Manage the program operating budget (s) • Monitor academic progress of student athletes • Adhere to and ensure compliance with departmental and College rules and regulations • Ensure compliance with IRA (International Rowing Association) or ACRA (American Club Rowing Association) for the Men’s Team and NCAA rules and regulations for the Women’s Team • Perform other duties as assigned
1-3 years of coaching experience or extensive rowing background
Proficiency in basic computer skills
Must also be able to perform duties within the normal bounds of an office environment as well as sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to work outdoors, on a boat and in a variety of weather conditions and must be able to demonstrate a variety of techniques to student athletes
Must be First Aid/CPR and Lifeguard Certified and possess Michigan Boating Safety certification

Previous collegiate coaching experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is able to work independently, has excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and will be someone who is able to interpret, apply and comply with rules and regulations of Adrian College, the IRA, the ACRA, and the NCAA. A demonstrated commitment to the academic development of student athletes will be given preference as will knowledge of Adrian College policies and procedures.
