The Advancement Officer of OhioGuidestone is to be an enthusiastic member of the Advancement Department in helping OhioGuidestone maximize philanthropic support from individuals, foundations, corporations and organizations through the cultivation and solicitation of individual donors, with a special focus on sustaining and expanding assigned OhioGuidestone region(s).
Assist OhioGuidestone through the recruitment and establishment of a volunteer advisory board and other volunteers as needed with regard to fundraising and expansion of business.
Cultivate and solicit major, planned and annual from individuals who support OhioGuidestone and assigned region(s).
Cultivate relationships with foundations and submit grant requests as appropriate.
Cultivate relationships with corporations and submit requests as appropriate.
Conduct prospect research and identification with the Vice President of Advancement.
Assist assigned OhioGuidestone region(s) through the development of informational and marketing materials supporting both OhioGuidestone programs and philanthropic opportunities.
Assist assigned OhioGuidestone region(s) through public speaking presentations in the community and in churches.
Work in coordination with the Executive Director and/or Director(s) within the assigned region(s).
Identify individuals who could assist both assigned region(s) and parent organization as a donor, board member and/or volunteer.
Provide the Vice President of Advancement monthly written reports on all fundraising, marketing and promotional activities relative to essential functions listed above.
Work collaboratively with OhioGuidestone Advancement Department staff and OhioGuidestone Board of Directors.
Post all contact notes in Raisers Edge, keeping current within two weeks of contacts being made.
Maintain accurate and updated database records.
Ensure that fiscal goals set by the Vice President of Advancement are achieved.
Oversee the database, donor records, and prospect research relative to the annual fund.
Oversee and coordinate special event fund raising programs as assigned.
May be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events or department specific projects or seasonal program changes
In times of need, employee may be asked to complete related duties other than those indicated above as assigned by their supervisor

Work is performed in the community and in assigned office(s) requiring extensive driving.
Must be available by phone and work flexible hours
Must be able to exchange written and verbal information with stakeholders and/or representatives in various settings
Must be able to operate a computer and other position related technology
Maintains regular and reliable attendance
Must work a minimum of 10 hours per month in part time, benefit ineligible status; a minimum of 20 hours per week in part time, benefit eligible status; and 37.5-40 hours per week in full time, benefit eligible status
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
May require lifting up to 15 pounds across OhioGuidestone locations
Must be able to drive frequently due to varying work environments including agency office, school based, and community based including various communities
Bachelor’s Degree required
Experience in major gift, foundation and corporate cultivation and solicitation, planned giving, and public speaking required
Valid Driver’s license, safe driving record, and proof of Auto Insurance required
