Requires an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or English, plus at least one to two years of relevant professional work experience. College internships in a related field also are preferred. Proficiencies in using Microsoft Office suite products and familiarity with journalistic writing style. Some experience using video editing software (Final Cut Pro), and online news media monitoring, PR management, and social media management platforms (e.g., Cision) is highly desired.
Must possess solid writing, proofing, and third-party research skills, have excellent phone manners and professional demeanor, and feel at ease interacting with reporters, association members, and the general public. Attention to detail is a must. The ideal candidate possesses a creative eye and has the ability to juggle and manage multiple, deadline-driven tasks in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
