We are a growing northern California CPA firm in a rural and suburban area seeking someone to run our small audit department. You will need to be able to interact with clients, lead audit engagements, and enjoy the auditing environment. We offer either full-time or a flexible schedule and pay commensurate with experience and availability.
Ideal candidate: -Has experience in public accounting work, (audits for nonprofits and governmental agencies specifically), -Has a strong work ethic -Is a team player -Is familiar with accounting principles and auditing standards -Has demonstrated proficiency in computer use -Can train junior staff -Has a great attitude -Has excellent oral and written communication skills
More specific skills & experience needed for this position: -The ability to prepare financial statements with minimal supervision (extra consideration given if you can do this for Nonprofit organizations, Special Districts, or other governmental agencies).
-Strong skills with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, and familiarity with CS Engagement software is helpful but not required
-Experience as auditor for these types of engagements, if possible supervisory experience with such audits
-The ability to work both independently and on a small team, manage the audit process and prioritize your workload
