Position Summary: Directs the accounting, accounts payable, cost reimbursement, and payroll functions for UMC. Duties include directing preparation of all financial reports for the organization, participation in the UMC annual budget process and preparation of cash flow projections and assumptions.
This position is responsible for managing: Payroll, Accounting, A/P, Internal Audit, Budget and other financial support areas.
Education/Experience: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field and five (5) years of professional hospital accounting experience, three (3) of which were in a management role.
Master's degree in Accounting, Business or closely related field.
Previous Controller level or equivalent experience within a large acute care environment.
Previous management level experience within a public/governmental healthcare system.
Experience in both the strategic and master planning of a hospital.
Current CPA licensure, or ability to become licensed, in the state of Nevada.
Demonstrated ability in governmental accounting and federal/state reimbursement models.
Financial experience in an academic health setting that includes graduate medical education.
Demonstrated excellence in writing and presentation skills related to budgets and executive summaries.
Previous experience in a union environment.
