Head Coach 3 (Head Coach, Women's Gymnastics)
Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, a Division 1 and Big Ten Conference Institution is seeking a Head Coach for Women's Gymnastics. The University seeks a dynamic and experienced leader with a strong commitment to NCAA Division I-A athletics, compliance, academics, character, diversity, and the academic and athletic experience of the student-athlete. Responsible for maintaining and strengthening a nationally competitive women's gymnastics program by presenting a clear vision and strategy for a winning program aggressive in the pursuit of NCAA Championships. Responsible for directing all aspects of the women's gymnastics staff in recruitment, practice, and competitive events. Requires significant administrative responsibilities, including the management of personnel, operations, and budget of the women's gymnastics program. Evaluates and recruits qualified student-athletes to The Pennsylvania State University whose athletic skills make them highly competitive in the NCAA and whose academic abilities make them outstanding candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation from the University. Embraces diversity and demonstrates inclusion; maintains commitment to departmental engagement, including collaborative interaction with athletics staff and coaches. Serves as a positive, inspirational leader for the women's gymnastics program, the athletic department, and the University. Establishes and maintains effective relationships within the athletics department, the University and local community, faculty, Nittany Lion Club, booster clubs, alumni, high school and club coaches, media and the general public. Candidate must engage in the personal, academic and athletic development of student-athletes and is responsible for the program's strict compliance with University, Big Ten Conference, and NCAA regulations. The successful candidate will accept the Team Monitor role, as outlined in Penn State's Athletic Integrity Agreement, and thereby assume responsibility for disclosure of wrongdoing, monitoring the program and creating an atmosphere of integrity. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of related experience. Coaching experience at the Division I-A level preferred. Proven organizational, evaluation, administrative, and communication skills; a demonstrated ability to work well under pressure; and knowledge of NCAA regulations required. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job responsibilities. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to three publicly available background checks. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding.
