ACC Senior Services seeks a dynamic individual with proven ability to work within a high functioning community based organization to deploy an array of strategies to achieve fund development goals.
ACC, established in 1972 is non-profit tax exempt organization that promotes the general welfare and enhances the quality of life for our community by identifying, developing, and providing culturally sensitive health and social services for older adults. Our vision is to create an array of services that help older adults sustain their independence and life styles.
Current programs include a 99-bed skilled nursing facility (ACC Care Center), a 146-apartment independent living and 24-apartment assisted living community for seniors (ACC Greenhaven Terrace), community-based lifelong learning & wellness programs and transportation services serving 2,500 annually (ACC Programs), and the senior nutrition program for Sacramento and western Placer counties delivering 500,000 meals annually (Meals on Wheels by ACC). We employ over 250 staff, most of whom provide direct care and support services to older persons.
ACC receives support for its health and social services from Medicare, MediCal, fees for service, Older Americans Act grants, foundation grants and funds raised through appeals, fundraising events, a capital campaign, planned gifts and major gifts. The Development Director leads staff and volunteers within the organization to plan, coordinate and implement strategies that identify and cultivate donors who support the organization. The Development Director fosters a culture of philanthropy that is part of the organization’s corporate culture, systems and procedures.
The Development Director will work with Board members and staff to lead cultivation and solicitation of major gifts related to a current on-going Capital Campaign, a VISIONARIES program, and other planned giving.
The Development Director manages two full time staff who support communications and donor database management. The Development Director assures the development and maintenance of appropriate systems, policies and procedures to support volunteer and donor management, research, gift processing, friend-raising, and cultivation activities.
The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and works closely with peer senior managers, Board members and other volunteers, and employees of ACC and Meals on Wheels by ACC. This is an exempt position with salary commensurate with experience.
