Temple University, a Division I member of the American Athletic Conference is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Graduate Extern, Creative Assistant. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with layout and design of Temple Athletics publications such as reports, brochures, and other print materials; design of print, digital, and social media marketing materials, including but not limited to web graphics and digital billboards; preparing artwork files for print; organizing and managing photography archives; assist in managing social media platforms and developing a digital media strategy.
This is a 9-month position (beginning September 1, 2017) working with the Assistant Athletics Director for Creative Services and the Digital Media Manager. Compensation includes a monthly stipend. Required Education & Experience:
An undergraduate degree in Sport Management, Graphic Design, Marketing, Advertising or related field and acceptance into a full-time Temple University graduate program. Previous experience in collegiate athletics/professional sports is preferred.
Required Skills & Abilities:
The ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Strong knowledge of desktop publishing and graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator) and Quark.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Resourcefulness, an ability to take initiative, and the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
Creative approach to projects.
Familiarity with all digital platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference and University rules.
Knowledge of basic HTML is preferred.
Experience with both Mac and Windows platforms preferred.
