The Director/VP, Private Equity will establish Ardenton’s Chicago presence. The position will be accountable for sourcing and executing investments. To do so successfully, the Director/VP, Private Equity will develop relationships with sell-side advisors while also reaching out directly to owners and management of potential investments. In addition to focusing on the origination of investments, the role will spend a portion of time managing providers (due diligence, legal, etc.) through transactions and contribute to the completion of those sourced investments. Ardenton’s deal team will also provide support should this be required.
It is likely that this professional is currently a Director, Senior Director or Vice President involved in corporate development or private equity, or alternatively with a sell-side advisor such as an investment bank, TAS group, or M&A firm.
Identify potential “right fit” investment opportunities that align with Ardenton’s investment criteria
Successfully deploy capital on an annual basis
Develop relationships to build the Ardenton brand and expand the network
Quarterback execution of deals from LOI to close, including efficiently managing support providers and advisors, prepare and present investment recommendations and due diligence reports
As Ardenton’s presence grows in Chicago, recruit, manage and motivate a high performing team
10+ years’ experience in an M&A environment sourcing and executing deals
Deep involvement in deal flow creation and management
Demonstrated success directly connecting with potential investments, as opposed to relying exclusively on sell-side advisor flow
Experience establishing and nurturing relationships with company owners and management teams
Must have exhibited, and have the reputation for, exceptional performance and integrity
Advanced degree – MBA or CPA – preferred
Blended personality style to work independently while being a member of a cohesive, yet widely dispersed team
