Job Description: The Assistant Athletics Director/ Sports Information Director (SID) will serve as the primary media contact for all NCAA Division III varsity sports at Lesley University. The SID is expected to market and promote Lesley athletics to the University community and also on the regional and national level; compile statistics, reports, polls, schedules, standings, and championship information; maintain the department's official website; utilize social media to disseminate news about Lesley athletics; represent the institution at selected championship events; oversee the selection and publicity of all conference, regional, and national awards; develop and maintain all Lesley athletics archives and records; attend all administrative meetings of the department, and assist with department planning. All facilities are off-campus and night and weekend hours are required. Lesley is an NCAA Division III institution and a member of the New England Collegiate Conference with 14 varsity programs, serving over 170 student-athletes.
Primary Responsibilities: •Ensures compliance with all NCAA and NECC rules and regulations as they relate to sports information. •Plans, organizes and executes the workflow of the office with a high level of efficiency, timeliness, and accuracy. •Maintains and improves the Intercollegiate Athletics Department PrestoSports web site. •Produces timely press releases and score reporting, game/feature stories, game programs, media guides, and promotional materials. •Updates and maintains statistics, post-game score reporting. •Submits qualified nominations for pre/post season awards for student-athletes, coaches, and staff at the conference, regional, and national level. •Coordinates live stats, live web streaming and production of video content for the Athletics website. •Effectively utilizes new technology such as video and social media to market, promote, and enhance the visibility of Lesley Athletics. •Develops and maintains team and individual records and photo archives. •Creates quality visual images and has competent photography skills. •Coordinates with the Associate Director of Athletics to recruit, train, and manage a student staff. •Interacts effectively with coaches, athletes, faculty, staff, students, and community members. •Assists the Athletics department as needed with other aspects of the athletic program. •Manages/Co-Manages the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). •Supervisor for assigned teams, including but not limited-to securing fields, transportation, meals and managing fundraising accounts and other day-to-day operations.
Requirements: •Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, sports management or a related field. •Minimum of 3 year of experience working in a college sports information office as a full-time staff member. •Experience working with Prestosports CMS, InDesign, Photoshop, Word, and social media,as well as a proficiency with StatCrew and desktop publishing. •Personable, with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. •Experience with event management. •Ability to work independently as well as an integral part of a team. •Proven managerial skills and experience managing student employees, coaches, teams and day-to-day operations. •Strong attention to detail, with excellent time management skills and organizational ability. •A valid U.S. driver's license and a reliable personal vehicle that you are able to use for regular business travel* as well as the ability to work night and weekend hours. •Must be authorized to work in the United States; if you hold a visa, your visa status must allow you to work at Lesley University.
Preferred Qualifications: •Master's degree in journalism, communications, sports management or a related field.
Additional Information: Salary Grade 24: $48,188 - $57,345

*Regular use of personal auto for business travel is defined as: An employee who drives his/her own vehicle for 10 or more days (either full or partial days) per month, or an employee who drives his/her own vehicle while on company business 500 miles or more per month.
