The Southern Athletic Association is searching for a dynamic and knowledgeable Assistant Athletic Director to support the growth of this outstanding conference as it enters its seventh year of existence.
This position requires an individual who possesses an engaging personality, a superior work ethic and an understanding of our mission to deliver a superb student-athlete experience for everyone.
The Assistant Commissioner reports directly to the Commissioner and works in direct support of the Athletic Director's Council and the Council of Presidents.
The Assistant Commissioner will possess the following attributes and expertise:
1. Experience as either a sports information professional, journalist, sports marketing professional or a public relations expert.
2. Strong organizational skills and management ability required. Experience in web development, use of the Stat Crew statistical software, familiarity with both Stretch Internet and PrestoSports is preferred. The Assistant Commissioner will need to be able to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines effectively. This person should possess high quality writing and interpersonal skills
3. An understanding of, and the ability to promote the mission of the Southern Athletic Association and the NCAA and possess an understanding of the roll that athletics plays at all Division III Institutions.
4. Possess a familiarity with Adobe products, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere.

Spanning six states, the Southern Athletic Association core members include Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama, Centre College in Kentucky, Hendrix College in Arkansas, Millsaps College in Mississippi, Oglethorpe University and Berry College in Georgia, and Rhodes College and Sewanee: The University of the South in Tennessee.
The SAA also has affiliate memberships with Transylvania University in Kentucky and Ferrum College in Virginia for the sport of field hockey and Trinity University and Austin College in Texas for the sport of football.
