WHO YOU ARE
The Director of Development position calls for a passionate and collaborative leader who will bring the following attributes to DSPT:
EXPERIENCE: 3 or more years of experience supporting successful fundraising activities with experience cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gifts.
TEAM LEADERSHIP: Leads by example, with the ability to inspire, motivate, influence and hold staff accountable to ambitious goals and high standards. Supports and inspires leaders and staff to accomplish DSPT's mission.
RESULTS ORIENTATION: Proven success in growing a fundraising budget by creating and executing effective strategies that meet or exceed stated goals.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Proven ability to build strong and trusting partnerships, with both internal and external stakeholders. Relates openly, comfortably and effectively with diverse groups of people.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Gains the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity and authenticity.
ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT: Demonstrates a sense of urgency, high energy and enthusiasm for new opportunities and challenges.
MISSION ALIGNMENT: A commitment to the mission and vision of DSPT and the benefit it brings to individual lives, communities and society through its education of lay and religious students.
HOW YOU WILL BE MEASURED
Quantity and quality of personal interaction with major gift prospects;
Yearly financial contribution of gifts;
Net financial result of the school’s annual benefits gala;
Leadership & guidance – effectiveness in directing and guiding the actions of DSPT resources and stakeholders in development activities;
The results of coordination/collaboration with the Advancement office of the Western Dominican Province for both the School and the Province.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge software system is desirable;
- Willingness to travel;
- Must possess a valid driver’s license;
- Bachelor’s degree required.
