Works closely with Development Officer in coordinating and implementing a well-conceived fund raising program emphasizing outright gifts and bequests, including the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors to the Ronald McDonald House of Danville, Inc. (“the House”)
The Development and Communications Manager will attend all Development and Communications Committee meetings and will work closely with the Development Officer and the Chair of the Development and Communications Committee to develop yearly objectives and long range strategic plans for the fund-raising program and media relations. The Development and Communications Manager will report directly to the Development Officer, President of the Board of Directors and the Chair of the Development and Communications Committee.
Specific duties and responsibilities of the Development and Communications Manager are set forth below. However, because of the encompassing nature of the broad responsibilities of the position, it is impractical to list each and every detail or to cover all instances which may arise within the scope of the position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILLITIES:
*1. Works closely with the Development Officer to implement a fund-raising program that will ensure a steady flow of philanthropic support to the House. Which includes being a participating member of the House Development and Communications Committee and assists with the development and production of all fund-raising materials.
*2. Assists in developing fund raising policies and procedures which are consistent with Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities and IRS guidelines.
*3. Directs planning, solicitation and follow-up of annual fund raising mail appeals.
*4. Researches and identifies individual, corporate and foundation prospects; actively cultivates development prospects and submits funding proposals.
*5. Maintain working knowledge of House gift and prospect tracking system.
*6. Oversees Events Committee in accordance with established RMHD Development guidelines.
*7. Assists the Development and Communications Committee in the development of short and long range special event fundraising and media initiatives.
*8. Represents the House as a speaker before civic and professional groups and ensures that the House plans, programs and mission are clearly communicated to various constituencies.
*9. Monitors McDonald’s Corporate announcements with respect to its “National Ronald McDonald House Donor Program” for the purpose of determining when it may be in the House’s interest to participate in such donor programs.
*10. Oversees public relations initiatives which include media relations and expanding social media outreach for the RMHD and its programs.
*11. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
