Coordinator of Athletic Parking Operations Athletics Louisiana State University 40% Oversees the management/coordination of parking and traffic operations for LSU athletics events and events hosted in athletics venues - according to University Policies and procedures. Serves as liaison for parking related functions and will be expected to communicate with athletic department regarding operational activities. 20% Oversees event preparation including but not limited to: staffing of parking lots, monitoring areas, maintenance of parking lots utilized for athletic events, ensuring lots are setup, security of lots and enforcement of policies and procedures. Duties include oversight and supervision of the hiring, scheduling, and training of approximately 200 contracted gameday workers - which include parking lot attendants, student workers, gameday guest service ambassadors, security guards, and law enforcement personnel. Supervise up to 10 student workers and volunteer staff. 15% Coordination of multiple agencies in the preparation for Athletic Events. Fosters a relationship with other University personnel, Office of Parking and Transportation, Facility Services, Campus Police, Finance and Administrative Services, Student Government, LSU Alumni Association, Baton Rouge City Police, East Baton Rouge Sheriff, Capital Area Transit, and State Police. Creates and provides materials for all staff on gamedays and communications with all groups regarding unique gameday elements. 10% Proposes, modifies and implements parking and tailgating policies and procedures for the Athletic Department, including updating fan material and maintain database with historical information. Ensures compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act in regards to athletic parking events and compliance with all NCAA rules regarding distribution of player (athlete) complimentary parking. Establishes, maintains, and fulfills the control methods for cash handling and systems utilized on gamedays - such as permit scanners. 10% Updates bids and proposals to ensure adequate staffing and equipment needs for all LSU Athletics Events. Develops, maintains, and provides recommendations for repairs, improvements with equipment and protocols. Plans and prepares documents for customer service best practices, including training and educational material for hired lot attendants. Oversees and develops guidelines for approximately 20 gameday guest service ambassadors. 5% Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with one year of experience in event management or related field. Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Valid Driver's license. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree with two years experience in event management and operations. Experience with event parking operations at a Division I-A Athletic Department and familiar management procedures at large scale events. Ability to multi-task and demonstration of project management skills. Special or Physical Qualifications: Ability to work extended hours, days, weekends and holidays. Ability to stand, walk, and lift objects up to 50 lbs. Due to the nature of the position and/or position responsibilities this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67.
