Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Development, the Senior Development Officer, Special Events, is the lead staff member responsible for managing signature and partner events, including idea generation, critical path development, committee and volunteer support, budgeting, sponsorship and execution. This position will also take the lead role in coordinating and supporting existing third party event relationships and identifying additional third party event revenue for the foundation; including an annual plan and individual agreements with each third party.
• University degree or college diploma in Communications, Marketing or other related field • Minimum of 3-5 years direct involvement in executing events, including sponsorship, volunteer management and donor recognition • Fundraising experience preferred • Basic creative/graphic design experience preferred • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal communication skills • Capable of working well independently as well as part of a result-oriented and collaborative team • Strong project and event management skills • Advanced computer skills • Available to work frequent weekend and evening hours, as required • Demonstrated knowledge of event planning, customer relationship management and fundraising software
