Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute – Communications Associate
A full-time staff position to provide support to the Director of Communications and other departments, as required, which includes the production of the association’s monthly and quarterly publications, administering webinars and assisting with new and ongoing projects/initiatives.
Manages the in-house production of monthly and quarterly newsletters, to include development of timeline, editing and/or writing, formatting/layout, obtaining reprint permission (if necessary) and electronic distribution.
Work with association staff/leadership to ensure communications uphold CRSI’s messaging, tone, style, and branding guidelines and rework submitted content to clarify message, ensuring it maintains CRSI’s voice accordingly.
Manages development, maintenance, and updating of content placed on the CRSI web site and social media outlets to continually enhance Institute marketing efforts.
Monitor trade and industry media for member news and information.
Administers CE/PDH webinars, certificates, surveys and broadcasting.
Manages course credit administration and support.
Provides support and handles the day-to-day administration of the Learning Management System (LMS).
Assists in CRSI HONORS program as required.
Work with Member Services Department to collect, organize, collate, print, and ship materials for conferences/meetings.
Assists in planning of national marketing program and various allied organizations in coordination with CRSI Region Managers.
Liaison for IT support with vendor.
General Office Tasks include:
Phone/website support including Rebar U registration and webstore purchases.
Product fulfillment/inventory audit.
Daily processing of new individual signups to website.
Provides support for internal and external mailings.
Backup support for office staff and Member Services.
Educational and Professional Requirements:
Bachelors Degree; Communications or English major preferred.
Minimum of two years related experience; experience in association/membership organization desirable.
Must have experience in Adobe InDesign.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop).
Competency in Microsoft Office.
Desktop and digital publishing experience essential.
Working knowledge of website CMS and HTML 5 desired; Dreamweaver a plus.
Planning, organization and prioritization capabilities required.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and customer-service orientation.
Office is located in Schaumburg, IL.
