Under the direction of the Head Coach and in accordance with all NCAA, Conference, State and Institutional rules and regulations this position will assist the head coach in all phases of a Division I Track & Field/Cross Country program, specializing in coaching two or more of the following event areas: sprints, hurdles, relays, jumps, multi-events.
Teach the technical aspects of the sport of track & field to the student-athletes and continue to develop those skills during their careers. Assist the head coach with the recruitment of prospective track & field(and cross country) student-athletes. Including but not limited to engaging in official and unofficial visits, electronic and phone correspondence with prospective student-athletes, and traveling to meets and competitions where prospective student-athletes are competing. Support the head coach with equipment inventory and management, home meet management and the public relations of the program. Aid the head coach and the academic staff in monitoring the student-athletes academic progress. Work closely in conjunction with the head coach to monitor budgets for the program, as well as monitor athletic scholarship spending.
Bachelor’s Degree 2 years collegiate coaching experience Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules
USATF Level 1, 2, or 3 certification USTFCCCA strength & conditioning certification NSCA or CSCCA certification Demonstrated experience with sprints and hurdles Demonstrated experience with jumps and main events.
