Siena College, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking applications for position of Associate Athletic Director/Operations. The Associate Director will be responsible for the internal operations of the department.
The Associate Athletic Director is the primary administrator on all budget and finance related matters including forecasting, budget management, business affairs, human resources, and contract matters. The Associate Director would also oversee revenue units including licensing and merchandise, building rentals, summer camps and other outside use of athletic facilities.
Other areas of oversight include, but are not limited to, athletic facilities and recreation programs. The Associate Director manages a staff of five and may have over sight of some varsity sports teams.
Specific responsibilities include financial planning, budget management, facility scheduling, timely and accurate reporting to business affairs, human resources, NCAA and MAAC; supervising some head coaches and managing those team operations; administration of summer camps; and managing the department's work study program. The Associate Director is the department's primary liaison with the College's Office of Finance, Business Affairs and Human Resource offices. The Associate Director assists the Vice President/Director of Athletics with strategic planning and implementation of initiatives that advance that plan.
Qualifications include in a minimum of a bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred. Successful candidate must possess excellent communications skill and knowledge of NCAA regulations. A strong finance background along with experience in college athletics is preferred. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and insurability at the time of appointment and must maintain such license and insurability throughout the tenure of employment. A background screening is required.
