Description This is a full time permanent position in the Office of Institutional Advancement with the BC Foundation team. This position is responsible for increasing the annual gift revenue in support of Bellevue College. The Associate Director of Development- Annual Giving is an essential member of the BC Foundation and has the primary role to design, implement, analyze, evaluate and manage an annual giving program to maximize short and long-term support for the College. The Associate Director of Development - Annual Giving is responsible for managing prospect and donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities, which includes the oversight of the Foundation's development database by supervising the Development Coordinator position. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Associate Director supports the Foundation Board of Directors activities related to the Development committee.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL DUTIES Design, implement, analyze, evaluate and manage an annual giving plan • Implement and create annual giving plan and activities through direct mail, telephone, e-mail, and on-line fundraising campaigns • Grow the annual income to agreed targets • Identify mid-level and major gift prospects from the annual giving pool and with the Director of Development to create and implement cultivation strategies • Manage annual appeals by developing solicitation and collateral materials, making individualized requests and ensuring proper and personalized, where appropriate, recognition • Facilitate donor and prospect research with the aim of securing gifts across a wide range of levels • In collaboration with other development staff assist with the creation and modification of annual and long range fund development plans • Support donor events, including cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising events Manage prospect and donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and activities • Supervise Development Coordinator position to track and monitor all Foundation donations (including gifts to 91.3 KBCS);Manage a donor moves management process for individual donors • Develop content for the quarterly newsletters and annual report • Evaluate overall program and individual appeal performance using program data and industry benchmarking and best practices • Oversee statistical analysis and goal-setting for annual giving Create a well-rounded understanding of the College's programs and resources that can be leveraged for donor development, engagement, and giving • Build and maintain collaborative and productive relationship with key campus stakeholders i.e. College leadership, faculty, students, alumni, and volunteers • Serve as an ambassador of the College in the community Performs related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's Degree from accredited institution • Five years of hands-on fundraising experience with progressive responsibilities and proven results increasing gift revenue – preferably in higher education • Experience with CRMs, Raiser's Edge preferably • Experience managing annual campaigns with multi-vehicle giving appeals, including direct mail, phone, and e-appeals • Ability to formulate strategic plans, organize, establish objectives and priorities, implement plans, and achieve goals within a complex non-profit environment • Ability to apply best practices and appropriate fundraising principles, methods, and techniques • Knowledge of and adherence to ethical standards of fundraising • Effective communication, interpersonal skills and professional demeanor • Ability to motivate, create and sustain productive working relationships with diverse populations • Ability to work independently as well as a team member
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission, goals and objectives of the College • Website and social media management skills • Budget management experience • Ability to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed
