Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Senior Accountant will perform accounting and financial functions and develop and implement solutions to daily accounting issues.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Support compliance with generally accepted accounting principles in accordance with company policy as well as local, state and federal reporting requirements.
Manage/approve return authorizations, credit memos, customer deductions, buying program payments and non-revenue order processes in a profitable manner that promotes responsible decision-making processes and behaviors.
Support daily reporting requirements of the department such as the daily overtime report and other reports to be defined.
Support of the close process including researching and posting month-end journal entries.
Support of Model Year Costing/Pricing and Budgeting activities.
Support the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, and supporting analyses (both defined and ad hoc), along with meaningful commentary to explain results/variances to various levels within the organization.
Ensure that financial reporting requirements and deadlines are met timely and efficiently.
Perform financial and trend analysis, including customer and product profitability, quad analysis, capital expenditures, productivity, cost outs and growth initiatives.
Manage all salaried and salaried non-exempt payroll processes including possible transition to a 3rd party provider. This will include all tax and other related regulatory requirements associated with payroll.
Collaborate with Accounts Payable Clerk on hourly payroll responsibilities and regulatory reporting requirements including banking and tax-related items.
Coordinate with the Accounts Receivable clerk, sales personnel and customers on collection of outstanding receivables.
Interact with the VP of Finance and other business leaders to provide consultative support for business improvement initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports and recommendations.
The ideal candidate will:
Have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required. CPA or CMA preferred. Prior Big 3 Accounting Firm experience preferred.
Have 3-7+ years of manufacturing accounting or related experience.
Possess knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, with the ability to analyze financial data, prepare financial reports / models, statements and projections.
Exhibit an incredible passion for attention to detail and perfection.
Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form using electronic media, telephone and direct contact with internal and external personnel.
Operate standard office equipment and demonstrate mastery in the use of standard software applications such as Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel (expert-level skill required), and PowerPoint/Management 2000.
Be familiar with the process of process of lean / continuous improvement.
