The Assistant Coach, Men's Tennis will be responsible for assisting the head coach with all aspects of the program, such as: administrative duties, recruiting, coaching, budget management, monitoring student-athlete academic success, organizing community outreach programs, organizing travel details, directing summer camp, and compliance with NCAA, ACC and the University of Miami rules and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment and retention of talented student athletes.
Building and maintaining relationships with current student-athletes, perspective student-athletes, network of coaches, and recruiting agencies around the world.
Travel domestically and internationally for the purpose of recruiting.
Help with planning and running team practices.
Conducting individual student-athlete practices as per direction of head coach.
Work closely with strength and conditioning coach to monitor program’s strength and conditioning, as per direction of head coach.
Work with ACC and out of conference coaches to schedule dual matches, as per direction of head coach.
Work closely with athletic trainers to monitor our student-athletes health and injury reports.
Statistical and video recording/upload and review of our student athlete matches.
Organize and grow program’s community service outreach programs.
Organize and grow program’s annual alumni weekend event.
Work closely with equipment manager to obtain appropriate Adidas apparel, as well as other necessary equipment.
Work closely with travel coordinator to insure appropriate travel arrangaments.
Work with business office in submitting financial reibursements.
Work with compliance office to insure appropriate administrative compliance tasks are being completed.
Work closely with academic advising personel to insure academic success of our student athletes.
Help direct and run kids summer camp. (4 weeks)
Assist the head coach with all other needs as it pertains to overall team success.
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization is required. Strong communication skills, organizational skills, as well as proficiency in in Microsoft Excel is preferred. Successful NCAA Division I coaching experience. Successful Division I or professional tennis playing experience. Recruiting experience with already established network of contacts. Attention to detail as it relates to communication, coaching, recruiting, and administrative duties.
