Assess nutritional status and dietary habits of student athletes. Provide meal plans or other nutritional guidance for student athletes based on nutritional deficits or specific performance goals. Purchase, store, and distribute nutrition products to student athletes.
Measure, interpret, and effectively communicate body composition results to athletes, support staff, and coaches while adhering to the confidentiality policies set forth by the department. Provide individual and team education. Create and deliver nutrition education materials through various mediums. Plan and execute special events such as grocery shopping trips and cooking classes.
Assist in the training and mentoring of nutrition student volunteers and interns.
A Master's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or other related area and one year of experience, or a Bachelor's degree in clinical nutrition, dietetics, or another related area and three years relevant experience is required.
Registered Dietitian (RD) in good standing with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, with completion of didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE).
Licensed dietitian in the State of Florida, or ability to obtain licensure within the first 60 days of hire. Experience counseling clients on nutrition, exercise, and weight management. Experience assessing and analyzing dietary practices for athletes. Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel out of town. Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply NCAA rules and regulations.
At least one year experience in collegiate sports nutrition preferred.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
This position requires the ability to work flexible hours to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
