Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania, (PPSP), an affiliate of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, supports Planned Parenthood activities in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania.
PPSP is seeking a Vice President of Development, who will report to the President/CEO, support a committed Board of Directors, serve as a member of senior leadership, oversee a staff of four, and provide strategic leadership, direction, and management for all aspects of PPSP’s fundraising initiatives.
Key priorities of this position will include, but not be limited to, the following: 1) individual (major gifts, planned, annual, and matching) fundraising; 2) institutional relations; and 3) development events. The ability to communicate with passion the mission of PPSP to diverse internal and external stakeholders throughout the region will be essential. The ability to proactively message and link PPSP’s philanthropic needs to the changing healthcare landscape will be essential as well.
With outstanding strategic, communications, and relationship building skills, the Vice President of Development will bring a demonstrated track record in identifying, cultivating, and stewarding major donors on behalf of PPSP. Experience leading a comprehensive and multi-faceted development program is critically important. The successful candidate will also be expected to be an active partner in philanthropic related activities with the President/CEO, Board, volunteers, community organizations, and state Planned Parenthood representatives in coordinating and advancing PPSP’s outreach efforts.
A Bachelor’s Degree is required; a Masters preferred. 8+ years of experience as a senior fundraising professional is required. Experience working within the context of an affiliated and/or umbrella organization would be a plus. Strong writing and technical skills, accompanied by expertise in working with donor databases, will be key.
