ABOUT RECONSTRUCTING JUDAISM As our times demand a powerful moral voice, Reconstructing Judaism is unafraid to lead with a progressive Jewish perspective that builds diverse communities and helps thousands of Jews grow and flourish. Based in suburban Philadelphia, Reconstructing Judaism – the central organization of the Reconstructionist movement — supports approximately one hundred congregations around the world; trains and educates rabbis and other Jewish leaders; fosters innovation; and makes possible dynamic camp experiences for children and teens.
To build on its recent successes, the organization now seeks a highly motivated, relationship-driven Vice President of Strategic Advancement (VPSA) at this pivotal time of growth. This professional will work with the President, Board and other senior leadership to increase funding and stakeholder engagement that will enable the organization to move its core priorities forward.
THE OPPORTUNITY Working closely with and reporting to the President, the Vice President of Strategic Advancement for Reconstructing Judaism will design, implement and lead a sustainable development strategy to increase philanthropic revenue through diversified revenue streams. The VPSA will manage a portfolio of donors, recruit new investors and partner with the President, Board Chair, lay leaders and senior staff members to cultivate, solicit and engage major donors. The VPSA will build relationships and actively work with members of the Board of Governors to maximize their potential as connectors, ambassadors and solicitors. The VPSA will be the lead professional for the organization’s Development Committee and attend all meetings of the Board of Governors to discuss strategy, policy and results.
As a member of senior leadership, the VPSA will manage a team of development and communications professionals that will grow in proportion to the success of its endeavors. This professional will also have the opportunity to oversee a capital campaign, now in its early stages of planning and implementation.
