Athletics Digital Communications Manager Northern Michigan University Northern Michigan University is seeking applications for an Athletics Digital Communications Manager. The position will collect and communicate department information to the media, campus and community. Perform sports information duties and media relations for intercollegiate athletics, recreational sports and the United States Olympic Training Site. Serve as the manager for designing, creating, and editing content for various forms of media (including print, digital, video, radio, social media and web). The position is variable shift and variable days with evening and weekend work required based on team schedules. The targeted salary range is $34,800-$37,000. Minimum requirements: Bachelor's Degree. Work experience in sports information, athletics media relations/public relations, sports journalism or graphic design. Knowledge/skills/abilities required: Working knowledge of sports. Working knowledge of technology. Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods which includes alternative ways to inform via written, oral, visual, social and other media types. Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting and selling products or services. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. Excellent oral and written communication and comprehension skills. Interpersonal skills. Technology use skills. Social perceptiveness skills-being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Time management skills. Ability to work irregular hours to cover events. Ability to multi-task.
