The University of Wyoming (UW) is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Compliance/Eligibility Coordinator. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance in running the day-to-day operations of the compliance unit. This position will have an emphasis working with initial and continuing eligibility. The projected start date for this position is July 1, 2019. The position will remain open until filled. This is a full-time (12 month), benefited position.
1.Responsible for the certification of NCAA academic eligibility for all student-athletes. 2.Coordinates all APR/GSR related issues (e.g., data input, analyses, projections, waivers, etc.) 3.Provides assistance to coaching staff in the recruitment of student athletes 4.Reviews academic records and monitors academic progress of student athletes for respective sports. 5.Updates coaches on academic progress of student athletes for respective sports. 6.Develops academic assistance and development programs to meet the needs of individual student-athletes. 7.Maintains thorough knowledge of university academic programming for application to NCAA progress towards degree regulations. 8.Maintains thorough knowledge of and adheres to all applicable University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. 9.Assists with other duties/projects as assigned/directed.
Bachelor’s degree required. J.D. or masters in related field preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, exceptional writing skills required, attention to detail, ability to multi-task. Ability to work under time sensitive deadlines. Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Knowledge of or ability to learn University of Wyoming, Athletic Department, and MWC rules and regulations.
