Reporting to the Senior Director of Development Operations, the Development Operations Specialist provides a broad range of information services in support of the fundraising efforts of BGCB. This position supervises the Gift Processing Associate and responsibilities associated with the gift processing procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Fully cross-train in all aspects of gift processingFollowing BGCB Gift Acceptance policies, BGCB fiscal and operational procedures, as well as IRS guidelines, accurately and efficiently manage all tasks associated with gift recording and donor data entry in the Raiser’s Edge (RE).
Train, supervise, evaluate and support the Gift Processing Associate. Provide regular supervision meetings and continuous communications regarding workload, priorities, and expectations. Establish and monitor annual goals.
Audit each day’s batches of processed gifts. Receive and scan in PaperSave all gift documentation daily. Review acknowledgement letters for accuracy of contact, address, and other information. Provide feedback and mentor the Gift Processing Associate, while ensuring that all gifts are processed and acknowledged in accordance with best practices and BGCB’s policies. Communicate with donors and BGCB staff when necessary to confirm or clarify donor intent and gift purpose. Occasionally, perform gift entry.
Execute and maintain data hygiene strategies that will increase the reliability of BGCB's fundraising data. Ensure integrity of data and records by supporting the implementation of RE policies and procedures, and by auditing data entry for errors and incorrect codes. Perform Raiser’s Edge data entry as needed.
Prepare and send out pledge reminders as needed.
Generate RE financial, analytical, and demographic reports, as well as mailing lists and other data extractions as needed by the Development team. Support the production of fiscal reports and systems documentation as well as revenue reconciliation processes, RE maintenance and PaperSave use.
Assist Club staff as needed with Raiser’s Edge training as well as mailings and reports.
Other duties as assigned.

Education: BA or equivalent experience
Experience: 2 years of related experience in a development department, supervisory experience
Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel as well as other Microsoft Office applications
High level of analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with current fundraising best practices
Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry and analysis
Ability to understand complex policies and procedures
Good interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize work and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines
Ability to take responsibility, to work well as a team member and to work independently
Ability to deal with confidential data; professional demeanor

Experience with Import-O-Matic or similar applications
