Summary of Position: Organize, develop and maintain all activities designated as appropriate by Head Coach for Volleyball. Be familiar with all NCAA and America East conference rules, policies, and regulations pertinent to the sport coached; develop strategy and tactics for play.

Acceptable minimum years of experience: 1 year
Other minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. One year of coaching experience.
Additional Preferred Qualifications: 2 plus year collegiate coaching preferred
Duties / Responsibilities:
Plan for season including competitive schedule (facilities, officials, practice schedule, training and conditioning program), plan travel arrangements for away competition and travel extensively with the team; prepare checklist of needs for each practice and each competitive experience. Under direction of head coach, develop a work calendar for all responsibilities on a yearly, monthly, weekly, & daily basis. Set-up and recommend policies on: extent of competition, extent of practice, sharing of facilities and equipment, medical considerations, monitor and report to authorities any facility problem (lights, field conditions, safety hazards).
Plan for equipment and supplies including uniforms, and other needs, maintenance, new orders, arrangements for storage in season and post season. Participate in budget building process as requested by head coach.
Assist with the generation of student participants for the program; extensive travel for recruiting; develop suggested guidelines for scholarships including criteria for selection and equitable opportunity for sexes and sports. Develop remedial and learning opportunities leading to top-level competitive experience. Help insure publicity through public release, community activities, and social media on a national and regional basis of opportunities available.
Participate in the development of whatever manuals, evaluative tools, and other in house guides required by head coach. Develop and evaluation process (short/long term) to include measurable program objectives, mid-season evaluation process and assessing outcomes.
Be well informed of on care/prevention practices for injuries; oversee all aspects of physical, mental, and academic welfare of athletes and be aware of University resources to assist in these areas.
