Norwich University, located in Northfield, VT and a member of the NCAA Division III and the New England Hockey Conference is accepting applications for the position of Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach. This is a full time 10 month position. The head coach is responsible for the overall administration of the nationally recognized women's ice hockey program at Norwich University.
Responsibilities: •Understand and abide by all University, NCAA Division III and New England Hockey Conference policies and regulations •Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes to the program •Develop an annual recruiting plan and maintaining a database of prospective student-athletes in coordination with the Admissions Office •Organize and implement comprehensive practice and game plans •Demonstrate and communicate expertise and knowledge of the sport •Schedule all travel and lodging for the men's program •Oversee the operational budget for the hockey program •Prepare and complete all administrative reports involving the hockey program •Hire, supervise and mentor assistant coaches and work study students •Oversee the scheduling of league and non-league hockey contests and scrimmages •Monitor the academic progress of all student athletes in the hockey program to enable them to achieve high academic success •Attend all league meetings •Attend University Open Houses •Participate in promotions and publicity events for the hockey program •Organize and administer fundraising activities in conjunction with the Director of the Maroon and gold Athletic Association and the Blue Line Club and their Board of Directors •Serves on University and Athletic Department committees as assigned •Develop and nurture alumni and community relations in support of the men's hockey program •Maintain membership in professional organizations within the ice hockey community
