The Arizona Dental Association (AzDA), a 2,500-member state constituent of the American Dental Association, seeks an experienced executive director to lead the organization through an upcoming period of growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization, ensuring that it operates efficiently and effectively to meet the goals of its mission statement and strategic plan. The executive director will be the face of the association, working closely with the AzDA Board of Trustees, AzDA House of Delegates, member and non-member dentists, government officials, the media, and the public. She or he will ensure that team members align with the association’s mission and vision, and that association members and team members work together to successfully achieve strategic objectives. The ideal candidate embraces a culture that places a high priority on member service, communication, advocacy, recognition, and collaboration.

1. Bachelor’s degree is a minimum requirement. Master’s degree in business or public administration, public health, or related field is preferred. 2. Previous experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in the health care sector. Legislative, regulatory, and policy experience is desirable. 3. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful strategic plans. 4. Deep understanding of financial strategies and finance-related performance metrics for non-profit membership organizations, and related for-profit and charitable not for profit entities. 5. Strong aptitude for verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship development. 6. In-depth knowledge of best practices in management and governance.
