The University of Southern Mississippi, a member of Conference USA and NCAA Division I (FBS), invites applicants for the position of Athletics Compliance Graduate Assistant. This is a 9-month, graduate student position that runs from August 19, 2019 to May 15, 2020 with the potential to be renewed. Position includes graduate school tuition and a stipend. The University of Southern Mississippi offers 17 intercollegiate sports.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Athletics Compliance Graduate Assistant will support the Office of Athletic Compliance and the University of Southern Mississippi Athletic Department as a whole. This position will assist with a variety of daily compliance related operational tasks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to rules education, overseeing recruiting software, initial eligibility, ticket procedures, playing and practice seasons.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree with preference in sports administration, business, law or related field. One year of athletic experience in collegiate athletics and/or professional athletics as an undergraduate intern/volunteer is preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively. Possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Familiarity with NCAA Apps and ARMS is a plus. Applicant must be accepted to the Graduate School to fill this position.
