Under the general supervision of the Director of Strength & Conditioning, act as a Coach for the Division's Strength & Conditioning Program in accordance with NCAA, Big Ten, and University regulations.
Principal duties: Areas of responsibility include:
• Leading conditioning drills for assigned intercollegiate athletic teams
• Teach weight lifting and conditioning techniques and safety and maintenance of the weight room area
• Computerized data entry and tracking of student-athlete workouts
• Assisting with the acquisition, management and advancement of performance-based technology
• Other duties assigned by the Director of Strength & Conditioning
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of two (2) year of successful collegiate strength and conditioning experience (preferably within Division I) is required. Selected candidate will be required to maintain current certification through a nationally accredited strength and conditioning certification program (National Strength Coaches Association and Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association) in accordance with NCAA requirements.
Other qualifications include: the ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups and administrators, faculty, staff, coaches and students; the ability to be able to develop and implement innovative approaches and solutions; work well independently and in teams; and be flexible in accepting new responsibilities.
Conditions of Employment: This is a 100% FTE Limited Appointment contract. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included. Anticipated start date is on or after June 1, 2019.
