GRADUATE ASSISTANT- TRACK & FIELD COACH- Missouri Western State University, an NCAA Division II institution located in St. Joseph, MO, is seeking a Graduate Assistant with experience in throws events, including the shot put, hammer, discus, javelin, and weight throw. The successful candidate will assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the program including: assisting with daily coaching, planning practices, meet preparation and recruiting. Secondary duties may include: associated travel, academic mentoring of student-athletes, provide input during practice planning, statistical analysis and record keeping, and other duties assigned by the head coach. REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree, and employment is contingent on acceptance into MWSU Graduate School (2.75 GPA required for admission). PREFERRED: Previous experience as a Track & Field Coach and/or player is recommended. Candidate should be well organized, possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to work independently of other coaching staff when necessary. This position begins in January and concludes in May, and can be extended for a second year based on academic and administrative performance evaluation. A stipend of $5,000 (paid monthly over 10 months) and full graduate school tuition covering a maximum of 36 credit hours is provided.
