Under the direction of the Head Coach and in accordance with all NCAA, Conference, State and Institutional rules and regulations this position will assist the head coach in all phases of a Division I Men’s Basketball program. The assistant coach will assist with recruitment of prospective student-athletes; including but not limited to official and unofficial visits, electronic correspondence, and on the road recruiting. This position will also assist with practice and game planning, player skill development, as well as weight training and conditioning. The assistant coach will also provide support to the head coach in various other areas as assigned (i.e. marketing, public relations, community service, or academics).
Three years of experience in college coaching or intercollegiate/professional athletics administration
Demonstrated evidence of collegiate coaching experience.
Demonstrated experience in recruiting student athletes.
Demonstrated experience in practice planning.
Demonstrated knowledge of student-athlete skill development.
Evidence of experience with academic monitoring of student athletes.
Evidence of an understanding of NCAA Rules.
