The Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) in the search for a Senior Director of Development.
The Senior Director of Development will provide strong leadership and day-to-day management for JAX’s major, principal and planned gifts team, corporate and foundation relations, annual giving, and cause-related marketing. The Senior Director of Development will directly supervise an overall team of 9 development professionals and 2 administrative staff.
Under the direction of the Vice President for Advancement, the Senior Director of Development will conceptualize, plan, and execute a strategic and coordinated annual fundraising program in support of the top funding priorities for JAX. The Senior Director of Development will also lead the creation and execution of an ambitious, multi-year fundraising plan within the framework of a comprehensive fundraising campaign for JAX that is anticipated to generate at least $100 million in private support.
The Senior Director of Development will work closely with members of the Board of Trustees and executives at JAX and will have regular contact with the institution's senior leadership as well as ongoing contact with external constituents including principal gift donors, volunteers, and friends. The Senior Director of Development will work collaboratively with principal investigators across JAX, and with the Advancement Services and Operations team and development officers to conceptualize strategic events, and other activities to cultivate and steward highest level gift/grant prospects and donors.

A bachelor’s degree is required for this position as is at least twelve years of comprehensive campaign planning, implementation, and management experience, preferably in an academic research, biomedical, or cause-related healthcare setting.
