Athletic Operations & Events Assistant (Part-time) The University of Akron Akron, OH
Position will be assigned and responsible for specific men's and women's sports home game management and oversight. Assist with the preparation and daily organizing of rental events and sports camps. Assist with the daily operations of the Athletics Facilities and Operations office. Provide leadership for assigned sports home game management. Oversight includes coordinating game-day venue set ups and teardowns. Other duties include; scheduling game staffing, which includes ushers, scorers, ticketing and police, coordinating crowd control, hosting game officials and plan visiting team accommodations and working with the home team coaches and support staff. Assist with home game management of Football and men's basketball games. Duties may include assisting with preparations and attending game management meetings, hosting the visiting team and game officials, coordinating game usher assignments and assisting with venue set ups and tear downs. Assist with the management and operations of University special events, facility rentals and sports camps. Assist with the daily operations of the Athletics Facilities and Operations office. Duties include attending staff meetings, assisting with the scheduling process, benchmarking and front office and other venue staff coverage during business hours. Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. A minimum of one-year experience in Athletics facilities, operations and event management as an undergraduate or graduate student required. Strong speaking and writing skills and ability to provide daily outstanding customer service required. Able to communicate with a diverse community required. Required to comply with NCAA, Mid-American Conference and University rules and procedures. Must be able to work nights and weekends when required.
