Primary Purpose The individual will oversee publicity for specific sports as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations and assist in the publicity of the athletic department.
Key Responsibilities: •Develop communications strategies to increase visibility and enhance the image of Idaho State Athletics coaches, student-athletes and administrators. •Develop and maintain relationships with local and regional media. •Produce digital and written content, including press releases, feature stories, promotional materials, player and coach bios and fact and records books. •Develop and implement social media strategies. •Organize and manage game-day media operations. •Maintain historical and statistical information. •Coordinate media requests. •Must be able to work night and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications •Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, or Mass Communications or related field. •At least one (1) year of experience working in a college athletics communications office. •Knowledge and understanding of StatCrew. •Experience writing press releases, game recaps and human-interest stories. •Computer proficiency with knowledge of data bases, spreadsheets, word processing, desktop publishing, video and graphic applications.
Preferred Qualifications •Experience in video editing and various multimedia platforms. •Know how to score volleyball and basketball in StatCrew.

Salary has been approved at $39,220 annually, commensurate with education and experience. Includes a competitive benefits package.
